Fare Rules
What to know before you book.
Airline tickets are sold with different fare rules that determine what you can and cannot do with your booking. Understanding these rules helps you pick the right ticket.
Common fare types
- Economy Saver — Lowest price, fewer changes allowed, limited baggage.
- Economy Standard — Mid-range fare, some changes allowed, standard baggage.
- Economy Flex — Higher price, more flexibility, free changes and priority perks.
- Business & First Class — Premium experience, flexible changes, extra baggage, lounge access.
What fare rules cover
Fare rules typically include change and cancellation fees, refund eligibility, baggage allowances, seat selection rules, upgrade options, and expiration dates for unused tickets.
Where to find your fare rules
Before you book, the airline or travel partner displays the fare rules during checkout. After booking, they are included in your confirmation email. Always review them before making changes.
